When a child is in the hospital, families do whatever it takes to stay close. Volunteers help make that possible.

At the Ronald McDonald House, you create a space where families can rest, recharge, and feel supported—so they can focus on what matters most.

What you’ll do

Every day looks a little different, but your time makes a real impact. During your volunteer shift you may:

  • Prepare guest rooms for the next family
  • Help with light cleaning throughout the House
  • Support in the kitchen when needed
  • Assist with laundry
  • Help with administrative tasks
  • Step in wherever support is needed that day


We’re always finding new ways for volunteers to help. If you have a specific skill or talent, we’d love to hear about it.

We do our best to match volunteers to their interests and strengths, while also supporting the needs of the House.

What to expect
House volunteers typically serve on a recurring schedule and play an important role in keeping the House running smoothly. A commitment of at least one 3-hour shift per month is required. This is a hands-on opportunity to support families in a meaningful, behind-the-scenes way.

  2. Complete the onboarding process, including any required training
  3. Choose a shift that fits your schedule
