Ronald McDonald House Louisville provides essential services that remove barriers, strengthen families, and promote healing when children need healthcare. By offering a place to stay, warm meals, caring support, and a community of comfort, Ronald McDonald House Louisville helps families stay close to their hospitalized child during some of life’s most difficult moments.
Serving families from across Kentucky, the United States, and around the world, Ronald McDonald House Louisville operates a 56-room Ronald McDonald House along with three Ronald McDonald House Family Room and a Hospitality Cart program in partnership with local healthcare providers to ensure families can remain together and actively involved in their child’s care.
At Ronald McDonald House Louisville, we believe family is essential to healing. Because when a child needs healthcare, family stays.
Hal Hedley has led Ronald McDonald House Louisville as Chief Executive Officer since 2001, guiding the organization through a period of significant growth and impact for families across the region.
Under his leadership, Ronald McDonald House Louisville has expanded its reach and capacity to better serve families navigating pediatric medical care. Most notably, he oversaw a $21 million expansion completed in 2020, increasing the organization’s capacity by more than 50 percent. Today, Ronald McDonald House Louisville provides a home away from home through its 56-bedroom House and three Ronald McDonald House Family Rooms, supporting thousands of families each year.
With a background in nonprofit leadership and resource development, Hal previously served as Executive Director of the Kentuckiana Children’s Center and held roles within the United Way system across three states. He earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Florida and completed executive education at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
In addition to his local leadership, Hal serves in an advisory capacity on global initiatives for Ronald McDonald House Global, helping advance the mission worldwide.
