Shuttle Service for Families

Connecting families at Ronald McDonald House Louisville to the care their child needs, so they can focus on being there when it matters most.

Ronald McDonald House Louisville and LOUMED began a limited pilot of a shuttle service on January 26, 2026 to support families staying at Ronald McDonald House. As part of this trial run, the shuttle will begin making regular stops at select downtown hospital entrances.

Details:

  • Service will operate Monday through Friday between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm
  • Shuttle operations will be provided by Riverside Transportation Services
  • Riders must present a red Ronald McDonald House wristband when boarding.
  • There are five planned stops during the trial phase
    • Ronald McDonald House Louisville
    • Norton Childrens Hospital
    • Frazier Rehab Institute
    • Norton Novak Center
    • UofL Hospital

The specific route, order of stops and overall circuit timing will be tested and refined during the trial to determine the most efficient loop and establish general arrival intervals. Based on what we learn during the pilot, LOUMED may expand the service later in the year.
